Knowing how many kJ are contained in a given food will come in handy.
That's why the larger fast food and supermarket brands now prominently display the kJ count where you can see them on menu boards and display tags in-store.
If you want to check how many kJ before you head out, you're at the right place.
This database includes many products from the brands affected by the NSW kJ display laws, and a small number of similar, common foods.
We've made efforts to ensure the product data is accurate and complete at the time of publishing. It may be updated from time to time.
Short-term and seasonal promotion items are included if data is available during the update cycle.
Kilojoule values and product listings may differ to specific store offerings.
Values are for NSW products.
As with all foods, published kJs are averages and may be calculated using one of several approved methods.
The kJs published may vary from actual kilojoules in products due to seasonal factors, natural variations in serve size or components and local supply variations.
Activity equivalents of the kJ values are for illustration only. It is not recommended to try to burn off every kJ consumed with physical activity. Bodies need kJs to maintain their own healthy function.
The data is provided "as is" or "as available" and without warranties of any kind.
The assistance of these brands in supplying and checking kJ data is gratefully acknowledged: Baker's Delight; Gloria Jean's; Jamaica Blue; Muffin Break; Sumo Salad; and The Coffee Club.
